I was enjoying following Aparna Garg but found that my watercolours were not producing the effect that Aparna was achieving so I moved to another medium - acrylic pens- but they also would not work well! My background wasn’t great either! So finally I painted a wash over the whole painting and added more vibrancy and definition with whatever supply would work!! I think the use of the black and white line work and other markings were the real saving of this painting in the end. At least I could look and say ‘I like it now’ even though I went off in a different direction to that of the teacher!
