Progressions - Exercises for Drawing and Painting Loose

Here are my progression drawing and painting studies from the class. FYI, progression studies are based on being able to construct your subject first and then deconstructing them. The idea is you learn how to draw it in a convincing manner which means taking time to observe and see the important shapes and details.

Once you can do this then you repeat the process again but taking less time to do it. Finally, a third progression is completed but with less time which means the results are more gestural and less details.

As you will see below each time the progression is done the subject becomes more abstract.
