Great question, Judy! I think it's the angle you took the photo or that the artwork was popped up and not laying flat that's giving it the angled appearance.

Judy, I love this so much! It's a perfect blend of Sandy's early pattern work and later object installations. What a lovely play of patterns you've used and created, and I love that you used primary colors for it. Thank you so much for sharing it! Would you mind if I shared it on my Instagram?

I re-visited your class on Sandy. I was wow’d the first time, but soooo many artists!  This time, I vibed with the collage such as you made but also found the installations astounding. Thus I was moved to somehow do a collage AND a mini-installation.  As usual;, permission granted to share on Insta. And now I am feeling more moved to go back.  Also, as usual, your comment made me smile, and I loved the way your personality AND creativity was present in your text.  Sidebar: I was giggling as I did this because it reminded me of a long-ago Saturday Night Live skit. Did you ever see the skit about how “it’s a dessert topping and a floor cleaner”? So, that was a joke for me as I worked. May still be in the SNL archive on YouTube. Blessings, Judy

I'm so happy you came back to this one, Judy. 😊 I first fell in love with Sandy's installations, I think as a teenager. I'm thrilled you explored combining collage and mini-installation. She was a keynote at an art teacher conference my first year of teaching. I loved her keynote but am still kicking myself for not also signing up for her workshop. They created an art installation for much of the day using cereal. (We were in Battle Creek, MI which has a cereal factory. 😊) Looking back it would have been amazing to work alongside her.  Haha, I hadn't seen that skit but it was very fun to check it out on YouTube. 😆 I love when art brings on the giggles.
