Plein Air Paintings
I enjoyed this class and I'm making it a goal for this year to try more plein air painting. I'm never very confident about painting outside but the more classes I take on painting loosely the easier it becomes. In the summer we camp in some beautiful places so I'm getting better at bringing out my paints and paper to try to capture the basics of the view without trying to include all the details.
This is my 15 min painting of the view from our trailer while camping this week. My favorite premade paint palette is from Daniel Smith. I love the color palette and the pan are replaceable when used up. The Daniel Smith hand poured pans wet easily which makes it great for painting outdoors with a water brush.
This is a plein air painting I attempted last year from a summer campsite. The supplies are from one of my SketchBox subscription boxes. The opaque watercolors are great to paint with as they wet easily and are really forgiving.
