Playing with snow
I know it is not winter anymore, but I just had to try this class NOW! hahaha! why wait a full year for something I can do today? besides, half of the world is now in autumn and heading towards winter so, yeah. Back to the project, I loved making all kinds of snow effects but oh boy I needed to hurry so much, one point I had my paintbrush one hand, salt/ other brush on the other. It dries so fast! I guess it is because I am not using 300 g nice quality paper, but that just meant I had less time for doubting my decisions.
My favorite experiment: white watercolor water dots (purple vial).
Favorite effect: alcohol, circles are so perfectly round, might use it for cheese effect.
Happy accident: "winter is coming", I didn't have rock salt and used conventional... tiny grains... and it was so temping to shake it over my painting like if I was cooking... ended up with a snow storm! Afterwards, I added white watercolor snow and some calligraphy but yeah, I'm not that good at that yet.
There was another "accident", this time with the wood cabin. By the time I had finished my snow from the upper part of the sky, my ground was fairly dry and on the spur of the moment, grabbed a water spray bottle and sprayed over it. Apparently it wasn't that dry after all and got some cool effects. I wished it would have stayed, but it blended in ( it was too wet, hahah!) you can still see some of the spray effect on the horizon line, left side.
Alright, this is all for now!
Thank you teacher!
