Como desenhar 101 Ep. 1 - Habilidades básicas de desenho e exercícios de esboço com lápis para iniciantes

Excellent work, Jillian! Your shading perfectly conveys the 3-D form of the chess piece. The values are clean and well-balanced. Also, your lines seem relaxed and you managed to draw a symmetrical shape which is not easy. So, well done. :) I'm not sure what pencil grade you used. If it allows, you can go even darker with the darkest values. Using the full value scale of your drawing tool creates more contrast and your drawing will look even better. If you have the momentum, you might want to check the other two episodes in my series, Ep.2 about Perspective and Ep.3 about Shading. Depending on what you're curious about more at the moment. Best, Tamas

Pawn with shading. This was my pawn after I finished the class.
