Painting Wood in Watercolour
I love painting realistic wood in watercolour because it is a great subject for practicing some simple techniques, working on fine details and building up lots of texture with multiple layers. And the end product looks really cool :)
In this class I show you how to mix browns, practice a variety of useful techniques for the wood, and then paint these 3 pieces of wood from start to finish - oak, pine and a weathered walnut piece. All of these techniques are transferable to your other work and they are useful in another class of mine where we paint a birdhouse, below!
