I am not a complete beginner in painting, but in the botanical painting I do not have much experience.

I have to admit I was kind of frustrated at times, especially with the first one, which reminded me that I should have played the class twice and just watch the first time I play it before I paint. I felt like I didn’t see the hues and the values in the same way, adjusting contrast of the reference helped a little bit. My paper buckled even though I stretched it which probably means I used too much water.

I am not 100 % happy with the result, I feel like the veins should be more delicate and have more precise shapes and the edges should be much crispier. I also could have protected my highlights a little bit better. Overall I am happy I finished and learned a little more about the watercolor techniques. I try not to be harsh to myself but I guess I expected a little too much from my painting.
