My Sketches From This Class

My dear gentle students,

Here are all my sketches from this class, along with the photo references. Although this class is not designed for you to follow the painting step by step, some of you mentioned it would be helpful to have the photo references, so I’m sharing them here.

For your class project, I’d love you to share your own quick sketches, those moments when you managed to capture the essence of a place without worrying about every detail. If you like, add a short story or memory connected to your sketch. Where were you? What caught your eye? What feeling did you want to keep?

I’d also like to invite you to share the most unusual place where you’ve ever sketched. It could be funny and inspiring and I know we’ll all enjoy reading about it.

For me, the most challenging sketching experience happened at a children’s playground, when I was literally drawing while running after my little one. I tell the full story in the class My 10-Year Sketchbook Journey: How to Start an Art Journal, Enjoy It, and Keep Going. It was truly a crazy time!

Now it’s your turn. I can’t wait to see and read your projects.

Warmly,
