My Current Sketchbook

Hey everyone!

Let me be the first to share my current sketchbook and some thoughts about it.

As I mentioned in the video, I love small art journals with fewer pages. For beginners, I recommend starting with no more than 20 pages and opting for thick paper—140 gsm or above. I often use handmade sketchbooks (I make them myself from various types of paper) because it’s hard to find a suitable one in art shops.

There are a couple of sketchbook tours on my Youtube channel: Spring Summer Art Journal and Holiday Trip Journal

However, I recently bought a sketchbook that I’m quite happy with:

  • A4 size
  • 20 pages
  • 140 gsm paper – suitable for watercolours
  • Blank cover – I love customising the cover to suit my style
  • Price – Around £10 for a set of three sketchbooks

Here’s the Amazon link if you’re curious.

I glue a paper pocket into every sketchbook I use to store tickets, instant photos, cards, and other small paper stuff. For my current sketchbook, I also added a few sheets of high-quality watercolour paper to have the oppotunity to paint wet on wet.

About my struggles:
I’ve faced plenty of challenges throughout my art journaling journey. I have the class where I’ll share detailed stories about my experiences, how I overcame obstacles, and how my approach has been evolving over time. It packed with practical insights and hope you'll find it inspirational!

Now it’s your turn—tell me about your sketchbook and your art journaling practice. I’d love to hear your thoughts!
