For this project, I gathered all my tools and materials, chose my color palette using the 3-part color formula, and sketched out some thumbnail sketches so I would have plenty of ideas for my 3-piece collection.

 

Then I completed 3 final sketches on my subject matter choices.

 

I painted my main piece first, then added some ink details to give it a polished look.

 

Next, I painted the second piece in my collection hierarchy. I decidedI decided to add paint strokes under each brush to give it a bit more color and personality. Final to add paint strokes under each brush to give it a bit more color and personality.

 

I painted the third piece in my collection hierarchy while adding plenty of variety with the colors, despite the small color palette of 4 colors.

 

And finally, I did a critique of my 3-piece collection after waiting a day or two. Waiting helps me get a new perspective on my work and not take the down the sides so personally. I wished I had centered my brush pieces a bit more up and down on the page, otherwise, I'm very happy with my collection.

 

Now I have a mini collection I can use for my POD shop, social networking, for my website, and for many more projects. :-)
