Here's the one apple I painted. I was going to try another to mix my colors up a little more vibrant. My shadow ended up as a purple hue, but I actually really dig it. Also I only mixed two shades and tints so it's not as indepth as it could be. Plus I used a fairy large bristle brush so I should experiment with other brushes and maybe try to get some finer details.
I'm wondering about if we were to make a fuller still life or even a landscape how the color mixing would go. In this exercise we mixed all the colors from the beginning but in larger pieces I suspect you would mix them more as needed. Is there a way to plan for that or are there some blocking techniques that you use?
