Moving Memories: Photo to Painting with Acrylic Paints & Mixed Media

Moving Memories: Photo to Painting with Acrylic Paints & Mixed Media - image 1 - student projectThere was a hockey game tonight St. Louis Blues and Winnipeg Jets. Winnipeg is not my team but it is Canadian so I cheered them on. What a game! 1.7 seconds left in the game and Winnipeg scores. The game is now tied. It goes into double over time. Then Winnipeg scores and they move to the second round. So because of the hockey game, I did not get my class project completed. But I have taped down my board and found a picture I will attempt to use. If it does not work out, I will choose an action picture. I took this picture last week in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada when the Magnolia's were blooming. You will see me on here again when things settle down so I can complete my work. Cheers, Summer.Moving Memories: Photo to Painting with Acrylic Paints & Mixed Media - image 2 - student projectMoving Memories: Photo to Painting with Acrylic Paints & Mixed Media - image 3 - student projectPlaying with the palette knife. Just practicing! And it shows! Needs a lot more work and a proper palette knife.

I took the above practice sheet and did some page marking on it.Moving Memories: Photo to Painting with Acrylic Paints & Mixed Media - image 4 - student projectThen I took that page and cut it into 3.5 X 2.5 sections for Artist Trading Cards. (ATC) When I cut them up, I flipped it around so I could not see the design on the other side. I wanted to do something else with the practice sheet, thus I made this.Moving Memories: Photo to Painting with Acrylic Paints & Mixed Media - image 5 - student projectMoving Memories: Photo to Painting with Acrylic Paints & Mixed Media - image 6 - student projectI took the one from the back row, 2nd card in and made this Artist Trading Card.  I did 7 of them. This transfer was the better of all of them. I added some diamond dust to the wings and her chest area.  I must admit this was hard to achieve. Not an easy process peeling the paper off. Eventually, I did go out and purchase the Matt Medium. I will put this in my junk journal. I may add ribbon around the borders! Might! I will see how it looks.
