Little Blue has its first encounter with mortality when it finds an unusual, much older mushroom in the forest.  What is happening to Big Red, and why?  Will it happen to Little Blue one day?  Does it hurt?  Big Red looks pretty zen, and just smiles when Little Blue asks its questions.

 

This was a lot of fun to paint!  Even tho I use traditional materials, I still enjoyed the class and watching the process.  Thank you!

 

Side note - my daughters absolutely love this little blue mushroom, and it's all they want me to paint now.  So perhaps I'll come up with some new adventures for it.  I did post this painting on my Society6 page, and it's pretty adorable (to me anyway) to see these mushrooms on the products there :)
