Luminous Jellyfish: Exploring Watercolor Techniques

It was fun to follow along with all of the watercolor texture techniques that Will demonstrated in this class.

I used the Daniel Smith Cobalt Teal Blue and Opera Pink, student grade Koi Cerulean Blue, and Ultramarine Blue watercolor I mixed myself.

This was painted on Hahnemuhle Sugar Cane Watercolor paper on which the paint is supposed to look softer and more velvety. This was the first time I used this paper and was happy with the results.

The salt effect did not work well. I have found during previous experiments that the salt texture technique works best with non-granulating pigments and 100% cotton paper so I did not really expect it to work.
