Looking for favourite colours!

Looking for favourite colours! - student project

It is fun to play with colours. I mostly have full pans, so my customising options are limited, yet looking forward to putting together a set of favourites!

These ar some new colours I bought - the Pastels by White Nights ( a strange watercolour paint, mixed with zinc white - it reminds me of gouache!) and some metallics.

Here are some of my controversial paints- all fugitive! I know, I know. I am someone who has 4 types of black in my palette, so bear with me.

Once upon a time I swore never to buy fugitive paints, even though I mostly paint in sketchbooks.  Yet I fell in love with the 5 colours : Opera Pink by Daniel Smith and Rose, Violet Rose, Violet and Blue Lake by White Nights.  I keep them separately and use them for sketchbooks, and for the art that I  photograph... I think there is a place in painting for me where it is more about the process than about the result. Sort of like meditation. And there colours make my heart jump and my soul sing! I see it as a Zen Sand Garden rather than rock carving... a fleeting moment of Joy. :o)

I think Opera pink contains a fluorescent agent that fades and I am not sure if the White Nights use it to, but there is some sort of unusual vibrancy to there colours.

And indeed makeup case is really cute for the half pans.I am still considering removing the mirror and putting a coat of white enamel paint in :)
