Lady's portrait

This is a great lesson for absolute beginners, like me. Braden explains everything exceptionally well and with a calming presence. I'm definitely going to try more of his classes.

Here is my first attempt at the portrait using the Loomis method and the Asaro method. I think I understand the Loomis method but the Asaro method doesn't gel with me too well. Maybe I simply need practice.

I don't find cross hatching intuitive at all, having tried it for landscapes too. I intend to try this portrait again but with my usual shading style and much bigger (this being an A5 book). I imagine sculpting the face with clay (as I used to do pottery for many years). It feels more natural.

Thank you Brayden for an excellent class.
