These drawings are so beautiful, thank you so much for posting. I love all of them. The detailing is just the right amount, often with ink there is the danger to put too much down on paper and then you end up with not so much form, but in every one of these, there is the right amount of expression given through the ink to allow a full reading of the figure, and yet keep some mystery and a story not fully revealed. Wonderful!! Compiling a drawing too much make me feel like I'm cheating the viewer, so I try to stop when I'm still honest, expressing what I need to express. This is the difference between art and graphics. If you create a graphic for a client you have to please him graphically, but fortunately this is not the case (the reason i liked the class). I'll check the class. I love charcoal too. 
About the making of, I usually draw the shadows only, I keep the proportions this way (in live drawing), it is easier for me, rather than creating the figure with the pencil first.
