I found all the tips very informative but the ones that were new for me or I finally see the light:

Gradient on Text, Using the Glyph Panel (love it), Text on a Path (finally can flip the darn text up or upside down without screaming), Touch Tool (is totally awesome), Bend Type with Envelope Distort, Cut Out Text Effect.
