I've decided these look like the old hat boxes my mom used for her hats!  The texture is a ghost leaf texture sheet.  Most everything went well in the process until the last bottom fell off when it came out of the pickle.  This was the side using the solder paste.  I soldered it a second time and it was fine.  While filing the edges of the other earring, the ear wire came loose.  I use a small amount of solder paste on the outside and kept my fingers crossed it would hold the ear wire in place without having a big glob of solder on the outside of the earring wall.  Fortunately it worked!
