Happy colourful buildings in Toulouse

Hi, this was a relaxing and freeing sketching session with watercolours. It was hard for me not to overthinking and worry about the perspective of the houses, but Barbara's voice, tips and reassurance that this is a ways of sketching not drawing from observation helped me a lot to push through.

I am happy with my result :). I really like the framing of the greenery in Barbara's Toulouse refrence, so I decided to go with it and make my sketch piece. I also wanted to create contras between the house in the middle, the other houses, the greenery and the sky, so I decided to make it brighter with pink.

The house on the left was the trickest one as I ended up with a weird piece floating in the air, but I think the greenery on top disimulated it a bit.

I used Canson watercolour cold pressed paper, Winson & Newton watercolour set, some watercolour colour pencils and regular colour pencils on my piece.

I have never done the shadows on my watercolour pieces first, so this I found it great to add depth and as Barbara said not to miss a spot after the colours are added.

Here is my piece and progress from sketch to final piece! :)
