I do not love how this turned out but I did really enjoy the process and I will definitely give it another go with what I learned from this round. One of the things I didn't like was my color selection - I'm glad I tried a monochrome type of color scheme, but I would have liked it more if I'd chosen a different base color. The indigo gouache I used ended up being too dark and the background also wasn't quite the shade I envisioned, but I've already got a plan to try this with a green color scheme and I look forward to that. My biggest mistake here was using one of my larger sketchbooks for this - it's an A4 size so the double spread is A3 and wow, it took forever to paint, to let the paint dry, etc. On the more positive side, I do feel like I was finally able to get the right consistency for painting with gouache in this class, and that's a win.
