Golden-cheeked Warbler

Golden-cheeked Warbler - student project

I created this bird illustration as part of my 100 day project, focusing on the illustration of endangered animals.

The Golden-cheeked Warbler (species Setophaga chrysoparia) lives in Texas, U.S.A and is endangered due to the destruction of a habitat which has very
special requirements for this bird.

Although my resulting project is a bit rough, I am focusing on progress, not perfection. As I tried repeatedly to fix the scale and angle of the beak, I inadvertently gave it a bit of a hooked shape which is far from accurate.

My reference image was found at ebird.org, where a highlight was listening to audio clips of birdsong.

Thank you Valerie for an excellent class.   I will keep practicing!
