Gato: uma masterclass de aquarela de fluxo livre com Jane Davies

Oh my, this is just beautiful, and don't worry, I took a photo and rotated it so I can see clearly! The eyes are just beautiful and they were a tricky aspect to this Painting 🧡 It's a little bit of an ongoing glitch with Skillshare, which I'm reassured will be sorted soon, but for the time being, here is a little tip that works To solve the quirky Skillshare rotating issue, you need to find a way to "export" your image, either through something like Photoshop or Lightroom, or use one of the plenty of free photo editing apps. I've used Snapseed for many years. So basically, you open your image in an editing app, rotate it correctly, then export it back to your photos and upload it to Skillshare. This should easily solve the problem. :-)

Hi Jane, thank you for replying. The image is the correct way up in my photos. It is in portrait mode, I wonder if its because its landscape mode here. The penguins I also submitted were taken in landscsape mode on my camera and have come out the correct way! I also cannot work out how to put my name instead of 'skillshare member' so thats why I typed it next to the comments which also went in the wrong place! This is the reason I have not submitted my work in the past year as I cannot work all this out, and I have done all of your tutorials.x

Yes I can imagine the photo is the right way up in your library but when you put it into the Skillshare box, it switches it round to landscape. But the trick is to put it into an app and export it out again and for some magic reason, don’t ask me why it’s too technical for me. It will then post it the right way around when you put it on Skillshare worth ago. Skillshare are aware of this issue and I know that this will be rectified in due course so stick with it.!! You should be able to go into your profile and press edit and then you can change your name and add bits and pieces as you wish 🙂 Some things are better navigated on the actual website rather than using the app.

I will put Twig on hold and try to sort this out today. I really do struggle with computers but it's kind of you to help ☺️

I know I hate computers too. But you need to go on to Skillshare website not through the app to edit your profile 👍🏻🎉🤞🏻

I'm getting there, its now on twice! I'v got Snapseed App. Still cant find how to write about methods etc above photo. FOUND IT !!!!!

Yes, Snapseed is good. All you have to do is put your image in there and press export out again. Just make sure it’s the right orientation 👍🏻🤞🏻

I've finally cracked it!!!!  I joined Skillshare in 2024 with 1 month free trial to follow another Artist, then I found you. I loved your loose style with tubes and have quite a selection of Daniel Smith Paints now. I re-joined for 1 year and finished ALL your tutorials except for the landscapes. When I saw Twig I just had to re-join for another year, but did this through Google play as it was cheaper. That's why I could not edit my profile, they wouldn't let me!!  I clicked on an old review I had given in 2024 to correct all that you have patiently shown me, and there it was, edit profile!!!  Thank you Jane xxx

Yay, well done, does your head in sometimes doesn’t it 🤯 It sounds like you’ve been a busy undercover artist, if you’re feeling brave post up a few of your older projects I’d love to see them 🧡

Will do a few at a time as I have about 40!

Any ideas how to rotate image please, Shirley Bell

Yes, definitely otherwise I might be sitting in my desk for a long time 🤓😂

Jane, as you have been so kind and helpful to me, I would like to send you a complimentary copy of my latest book. It is called 'When Memories Meet Heaven'. It's short stories in poem form about everyday life and beyond. I think you may find it very interesting. please let me know x

Oh, Shirley, that's ever so kind, and I'm glad to see you've rotated the image correctly 🎉 I'll give you my work email address; if you could send me yours, I'll send you mine. Thank you again.jane@janedavieswatercolours.co.uk🥰
