I tried to get some ideas down first. As you can see, I changed my mind about some background elements later on.

For my final sketch I used Rohrer & Klingner sketch ink "Lily", Diamine "Classic green" and Lamy black ink. I absolutely love "Lily", it's a great colour and I never had any problems with it, even though it's pigment based.

In hindsight, I should have added a spider chasing the ants.
