I loved this activity so much. Nettles are great, and I could combine fibre collection with harvesting the fresh leaves for soup.

My fibres were short and brittle compared to the video - I think it is because it is early spring, and the thick nettles were all withered - unlike in the video where it appeared the over-wintered ones were still alive. I look forward to try this again in late summer/autumn. 

I tried tying cord around the glass bottle while wet - hopefully, that will keep the shape better. And otherwise, couldn't find a better use for it than looping it around a stone with a hole in it. Still, making even the tiniest things yourself can be magical.
