Expressive Watercolor Flowers
Really enjoyed the class Bianca~I can always use more practice with flowers and painting lose~put them together and it was a ‘must try’ class for me :). I managed to let myself ‘go’ while painting and getting better at it each time I use this style! Although drawing freehand is not my strong suit, I have been practicing so I was happy when I managed to draw all the flowers freehand and they looked like flowers lol…
I used Hahnemuhle 100% cotton 140lb paper for all 5 flowers. All paints used were Daniel Smith
#1 Daisies, I wish I would have drawn the flowers larger, but the techniques used with negative painting is newer to me so much enjoyed! Olive green, Paynes Grey, Trans Yellow, Cad Orange, Cascade Green
#2 Tulips~Naples, Quin Magenta, Perelyne Violet, Trans Yellow, Nickle Azo, Olive & Cascade Green & Indigo.
#3 Iris~ Ultramarine Violet, Paynes Grey, Trans Yellow, Nickel Azo, Cad Orange, Perm Alizarin, Olive & Cascade Green.
#4 Calla Lily ~ Ultramarine Violet, Burnt Sienna, Quin Magenta, Perelyne Violet, Olive & Cascade Green
In doing the background the info about making sure not to get the flower wet when spraying the background came too late, so the paint mixed down into the flower petal. All worked out but I have done this before, I get going and forget that watercolor runs lol, lol…
#5 Magnolia (one of my favorite flowers)~ Ultramarine Violet, Opera Pink, Quin Pink, Quin Magenta, Perelyne Violet, Olive Green, Trans Yellow, Burnt Sienna, Cobalt Turquoise & Indigo
