Easter Bunny

There is a guy across the road who is covered in tattoos. Sometimes him and his partner get into a shouting match on their driveway, To be honest, he is the calmer of the two. I don't even know if his partner still lives there. I have never met him, and I haven't really taken much notice of him, but what I have noticed is he is a loving father, and good with his young daughter and baby.

I thought it would be a good idea to bring some Easter cheer, so in the dark hours of this morning (fifteen minutes ago), I went for a short walk to drop a bag of easter eggs into his letter box. I did case things out a few nights before to work out the best time to do the deed. Late at night wasn't good, because he might still be up and about. Early morning seemed like the best time.

I didn't take a photo of the delivery because it's dark and I didn't want to light myself up with a flash of light.

Well, I walked down my side of the road, crossed at the corner, and that set of his neighbours dogs who rushed at me from behind the fence and started howling and barking.

As I walked past his house I slipped the eggs into his letterbox. So much for avoiding the light; his house is directly opposite a street light!

Walking past his house, I walked in front of his other neighbour's house and that set of a security light that highlighted my presence on the street! It had only recently been installed! Then I crossed the street back to my place.

Thankfully, being 4:45 am and still dark, nobody in those houses stirred! The package of eggs was delivered without being seen (I hope!).

It felt good when I finally bought the eggs to give away. I felt more excited when I made the card. I was going to deliver them yesterday morning, but chickened out. Now it's done. However, because of the dogs and the lights, I have to admit, it was a bit stressful secretly slipping a package into some stranger's letterbox. I'm really happy it's done now. I may not see him discover the eggs, but that's okay. Mission accomplished!
