Dog no. 3

This is the 3rd dog I've ever drawn. It was a commission piece for a friend who wanted this as a birthday present for a member of her family.

I was very unsure and somewhat nervous about the outcome, however after spending a few hours over a couple of days trying to make progress using the grid method, I decided to take this class which really helped me produce this end result. (A total of 7 hours sketching in the end)

I was so pleased with this especially when I showed my friend the picture all framed up...she was delighted.

The money I made has now been invested in some better pencils/smudgers...etc and I'm now looking forward to my next sketch where I can put everything I learned in this class to work from the very beginning, and not halfway through my opening bungling efforts :0)

The sketch was roughly A4 size mounted and framed in an A3 frame which made it look even better in the end.

Thanks for the great instructional tutorials, for sharing your knowledge and for making me falling in love with black and white sketching.
