Here's my attempt at drawing my sausage dog Daisy. I must admit, I was a bit dubious to start... but it really works, it's almost as if the character emerges after a battle with your left and then right side of your brain! (I kind of cheated with the blind drawings, by taking a sneak peek now and then, otherwise Daisy would have looked like a Picasso dog, hope that's ok!!!)

My observational drawings felt sooooooo good getting lost in the concentration of drawing what the eye sees, not what the brain thinks it sees.

In the above illustration I worked on exaggerating the french bulldog's main features.

 

 

I traced a line drawing of my caricature of the dog.

 

And finally added colour and texture. :)
