"Concentric radial pattern" aka my space ship :-)
Hey Chris,
Thanks so much for this amazing class!! It was just so much fun to watch. And the parts where you use the background music to show the workflow is perfect!
So, today I've been playing around with the donut tool and I would love to show you what I came up with.
This is the structure. I started with the smallest part in the middle and then rotated, duplicated it and multiplied it with 1.618 and so on.
Then I added some light beams. I started with one size and for the different sizes just multiplied with 1.618 too.
For the final result, I added a texture.
For the light beams I used "outer glow" but I wasn't really happy with it. So then I tried "Gaussian Blur".
But it's not the ideal result either. I don't really know what to do with the light beams. Should I add more? Or use a different effect? Do you have any tips?
Thanks so much!!

Sketches to go in a different direction:
The left one felt appropriate for you other class about vintage logos, so I will post it there. :-)
I made a vector version of the right one too, but I didn't like it. It did give me some ideas though to play with the space ship. Here's what I tried:
I liked the idea of B, but it seems a bit busy. So, I tried it without the light beams.
Then with extra circles/disks...
Still looks very busy. Then I decided to lighten the color of the shapes on the outer donuts. I do like that. :-))
