Color Palette for BikeBook

I started out by listing the words from the Client Brief that described to tone they wanted for thier branding.

For inspiration, I looked at vintage bicycle posters, imagery from the mid-century era, modern takes on vintage style and the bokeh picture from the approved photography.

While I really love all the vintage palettes, ultimately I felt they just were'nt quite modern enough for BikeBook's brand identity.

First I tried using the color palette pulled from the provided bokeh image, but I didn't feel like the colors were strong enough:

I ended up going with the Vintage Blue Bicycle, which isn't actually vintage at all, but a modern fixed-gear bike that pays homage to vintage style and color. I liked the idea of the rich, brown leather seat invoking in luxury, while the vintage blue color kept it stylish.

 Love it.
