Barbara has such a loose and delicate style which I have always admired. I started painting along with the espresso machine and two more cups. My sketches became looser and I had so much fun  that I decided to draw some funny coffee mugs which we use nearly every day.

And yes, there are memories connected with each mug - my son loved the cow mug when he was a little boy. The holland mug is my favourite mug (it is already a couple of years old and the colours of the tulips are fading). It is a souvenir from a visit to Keukenhof gardens where thousands of tulips are blooming in springtime.
