Walking: Walking around Pike Place Market in Seattle with a photographer friend.

"Passenger Load Only"

Waiting: I staked out a location in Pike Place Market where I had a view of the flower vendor as well as the pig statue, then waited until something interesting happened.

"Woman meets Uncle Sam"

Background: While walking in NYC I came across a large statue of "Uncle Sam" and decided to wait until someone had an interaction with the statue.

 

Harsh shadows: The railing shadow implies a cage; a metaphor for the plight of the homeless as trapped in a cycle of bad circumstances.

 

Point your camera up: In downtown Seattle I looked up to see to window washers at work.
