Charcoal Portrait Study

I recently begun working with charcoal and trying to improve my portrait skills, I happened upon this class and thought I would give the four step method a shot. Block in>Value blocks>Basic edges>Refinement.

It was interesting to learn about the Reilly Rhythms, This is definitely something I'd like to do further practice on as I can see once I have done a number of studies it will help me find the 'rhythms' between the facial points of interest that will help me with proportion and feature placement. Is there somewhere I can access online demos going through a few studies so I can memorise the rhythms?

I tried to take my time as I tend to rush my work for some reason (maybe it's difficult for me to be in the "ugly" phase) but it still only took around an hour to complete this study. If you have any tips for slowing down and taking the time to get the proportions right I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks so much for this demonstration, I have a few new avenues of study to explore now! Would also love to hear your thoughts on my study and what areas I need to pay more attention to.

I have such a long way to go to get to where I want to be and some external insight would be much appreciated and probably lessen my time floundering around as I am now.
