Hi Linda, I think you are being too hard on yourself :) For a first attempt (and definitely a challenging subject) I think you should be very proud! You’ve got loads of detail and the butterfly is very well drawn, and I actually think that when you do have smaller brushes to hand you could just neaten up the bottom edges of the butterfly, and also the black sections of the butterfly (e.g. you could add more, smaller strokes to the jagged edges, so from afar they actually appear smoother and straighter, but up close you can see that they’re actually made up of many tiny brush strokes). Not sure if that makes sense, but if not let me know and I’ll see if I can send a picture over to explain better. Thank you for sharing, can’t wait to see what you do next! Received gouache paint for Christmas and thought I'd give your assignment a try.&nbsp; I'm not very happy with the result but it is my first try with paint and this is a very hard subject.&nbsp; Need much smaller brushes.&nbsp; I want to repeat in the future and I hope to see improvement.&nbsp; Happy Christmas and thank you for your time.&nbsp;&nbsp;
