Brushpen botanicals

Brushpen botanicals - student project

Thank you so much for the relaxing and inspiring class!

For the project I used Canson XL Watercolor paper.

For this one I used Ecoline Brush Pens. I also added a background using Ecoline and Tombow Dual brush pens.

For the ferns I only used the Ecoline brush pens. Charlotte's ferns look fuller and more loose. I think I stuck to the branches too much. I would like to learn to draw a bit more loose.

I only used Tombows for this one. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. I used two different colors of green and pastel violet, pastel pink and hot pink.

I added a background, also with tombows, but I thought it looked too much like a galaxy... I softened the colors by adding a layer with neocolors II crayons in different colors. I think the succulent stands out more this way.

I had fun with these ones too! I used Ecoline brush pens for all of them. I used one color for the first two branches (Mahogany for the one on the left and Red Violet for the one on the right) and three colors for the last one (Prussian blue, bluish green and Turquoise blue).

I finished the drawing by adding colored pencils.

I started by using only two colors for the pine branches (brown and green) but I ended up experimenting with different kinds of green. I may have used a bit too much water here and there, but I think it looks like looking through a rainy window or something. I finished it off with adding splatters in all the colors I used to give it a more lively effect.

Thank you as well for the tip to use Unsplash. It's a great source of inspiration!
