Bound in Creativity: A Mixed Media Journal Project

I love your subtle colour scheme.  Just gorgeous.  I love the flowers that sort of give it a soft and friendly feel, but I also love how it feels like an elevated version of grungy.  I especially love how it looks like you have stitched pieces on with blue thread. And I love the pocket!

Oh wow, these are absolutely beautiful! I love the soft color palette — that mix of yellow, gray, and white feels so calm and dreamy. The layering and mark-making give it such wonderful depth, and the floral stencil work ties everything together so nicely. The way you incorporated the smaller piece into your journal spread is so creative too. You really captured the spirit of Bound In Creativity — playful, layered, and full of charm!

Thanks for the feedback, I love the word charm. One question.. everytime I use waxed cord to bind a book, I end up with waxy patches on my blank pages that drive me nuts when I'm trying to paint in the book. I used some other string I had around the kitchen this time, but do you have any suggestions for other strong string that isn't waxed? Thanks for the joy :)

You can use any thread you prefer. The embroidery threads are nice and offer lots of color options. I use the waxed thread since I like making journals, and I have it for those. I'd probably not go with sewing thread as it is so thin. 

Beautiful art journal. I love the stitches. I feel that stitching offers such nice texture!
