Love your painting. It's beautiful.

Malika, your watercolor pancakes turned out beautifully. You've developed a great range of values in the different areas/elements in the piece, which creates a realistic look. Your syrup also glows! I love what you mentioned about how watercolor studies are a lot about realizing what *not* to do. It's so true! I often need to work on new pieces 2-3 times before arriving at outcomes that I really like and, each time I finish, I take notes on things I want to make sure to do and avoid doing, on the next go around. Every piece is a challenge with its own unique combination of techniques and colors. Thanks you so much for checking out my course and for taking the time to share your work here. I’m learning that watercolor study is also about what not to do. I used a staining turquoise for my plate, which I kinda regret now.
