Batman (Approach 1 & 2) + Culinary Alchemist
APPROACH 1
Here's the first approach, obtained through the process described in the class. The Investigator. You can see here some of the most important concepts found and filtered to produce the final character:
And here, the final design obtained through the visual exploration described in the class (videos 5 and 6):
(Approach 1: Batman Detective/Investigator)

APPROACH 2
Following the same process, we obtained this second selection of concepts to develop a new character from the same base:
And here, the final design obtained through the visual exploration (videos 9 and 10):
(Approach 2: Batman Monster)
—
CULINARY ALCHEMIST
And finally, the same process applied to a specific and generic role/model, in this case, a simple chef transformed into something more special following the process. These were the selected concepts:
And here, the final design obtained through the visual exploration (videos 13 and 14):
The Culinary Alchemist, half mage, half scientist, half cook!

We hope you like them! As you can see all the process in the videos, We’re not posting here any sketch or previous concept. But please, post some of your sketches in your project.
Looking forward to seeing how you twist some concepts! ;-)

P.S.: Special Batman Day 2020 Update:
There are endless ways to reinterpret a character! As a celebration of both this year's Batman Day and the first anniversary of this class, we are adding a new interpretation of Batman to our project: Noir setting, 40s-inspired, 90% investigator, 10% vigilante, 0% superhero, super limited color palette. Almost like a masked independent detective. Tough, spare, sober, inscrutable.
It has a connection with our first reinterpretation in the class, reducing technology and taking batman towards the investigator role much further.
