I did not go out and draw on location because I couldn’t find a spot nearby with loads of people walking around...so I used a photo from Amalfi. This is exactly the sort of scene I would normally avoid because of all the people – but Jim's approach of drawing a horizon line, putting in all the people, and then drawing their surroundings, is actually quite easy and really quick. I did two versions, one that’s more in his style (my best impression of a Jim Richards painting!), and one that is more in the way I usually draw. I’ll get out this weekend and do some scenes from life. More to come!
