Abstract geode
This was such a lovely class. Abstract geodes have to be one of the most fun and freeing things to paint! There are simply endless possibilities and such a great way to explore both colours and composition. Thank you for this class, Jessica!
I decided to paint a larger piece on professional paper. It might be a bit hard to see, but I used my metallic watercolours to add a little bit of sparkle too. A nice finishing touch if you will :) Also, adding salt is so much fun and it's always interesting to see what kind of textures emerge depending on the pigment. For example, in the top left corner I've used Cascade Green by Daniel Smith and salt reacts wonderfully with it!
I must say, creating this kind of abstract painting put me in a pleasant flow state and I can't wait to create many more :)
