This project explores how small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) can use AI tools like ChatGPT to create ethical, sustainable, and competitive business strategies within the perfume industry, particularly for businesses dealing with imported Grade 1 fragrances.

Many MSMEs struggle within their first 2–3 years due to lack of differentiation, unclear positioning, and ethical challenges in sourcing and commercialization. Using smart prompting techniques, this project demonstrates how AI can help businesses move from imitation-based competition to value-driven innovation

Mini Case Study 

A small perfume business relying on imported fragrances faced high competition and low customer loyalty.

Using ChatGPT, I was able to:

  • Identify ethical risks in sourcing and branding
  • Develop a unique selling proposition focused on customer experience
  • Shift positioning from “selling perfume” to “creating scent identity”
  • Generate strategies to build trust and long-term customer relationships

Result:
The business moved from price-based competition to value-based branding, improving differentiation and customer trust.

This project applies a simple 4-step framework:

1. Diagnose – Identify gaps and ethical risks using AI
2. Differentiate – Build a strong unique selling proposition (USP)
3. Design – Create customer-centered messaging
4. Deliver – Ensure consistency in branding and execution

AI tools like ChatGPT can act as accessible strategic partners, helping small businesses think more clearly, compete effectively, and build sustainable brands based on trust and value.
