Used van Gogh oilpastels on backside of Canson Mi-Teintes ochre coloured paper. Had a hard time with getting a smooth blend, the paper got saturated pretty quick, which created blobs of pigment that at some point did not want to mix. Probably the student grade quality of the pastels. My first attempt on Clairefontaine PaintOn paper was an even bigger disaster.

For detailing I used some Prismacolors, because I couldn't get the pastels to work in such fine detail.
