kiyo x oshi no ko

The heavy, suffocating silence in the living room was broken only by the ragged, terrified breathing of Saitou Miyako. She stood frozen, her eyes locked onto the tiny boy on the table. Seiya didn’t blink. His deep indigo eyes, framed by those eerie, light-absorbing black stars, remained completely unblinking, drilling into her psyche with the precision of a surgeon’s scalpel. He was analyzing her micro-expressions—the slight tremor in her lower lip, the dilation of her pupils, the sheen of cold sweat on her forehead. She was terrified. The psychological pressure he was applying was working exactly as calculated.

"If you do not protect this family's secret," Seiya continued, his voice dropping to a whisper that somehow carried more weight than a shout, "there will be divine punishment."

Miyako flinched as if physically struck. The phone in her hand slipped, clattering against the hardwood floor, though she didn't dare look away to pick it up. "Divine punishment?!" she shrieked, her voice cracking. "What... what do you mean?! What kind of punishment?!"

Before Seiya could elaborate on the vague, terrifying concept, Aqua stepped forward. He dropped the theatrical, booming persona of the divine messenger, replacing it with a cold, deadpan delivery that was infinitely more chilling coming from a toddler.

"You will die," Aqua stated flatly.

Ruby, standing right beside him, nodded vigorously, her pinkish-purple star eyes wide with mock solemnity. "Yeah! You will die!" she echoed, her voice carrying a cheerful, almost gleeful certainty that made the threat ten times worse.

The blunt, unvarnished reality of their words shattered the last remnants of Miyako’s composure. The cynical, tough-talking manager facade completely dissolved. Her knees buckled, and she collapsed onto the floor, burying her face in her hands. Her shoulders shook violently as she let out a muffled, pathetic sob.

"No..." she whimpered, her voice thick with tears. "Please, no... I don't want to die. I'm too young to die!" She looked up at them, her face streaked with tears, her eyes red and pleading. "What... what should I do? Tell me what to do!"

Seiya observed her breakdown with quiet satisfaction. The transition from defiant cynic to broken submissive was complete. The threat had been successfully internalized. But it was Ruby who took the next step, seamlessly shifting the dynamic from terror to negotiation.

Ruby hopped down from the table, her tiny feet padding softly against the carpet. She walked over to the kneeling woman and gently placed a small, soft hand on Miyako’s trembling shoulder. The gesture was incredibly tender, a stark contrast to the dark threats that had just been issued.

"It is but a simple task," Ruby said, her voice returning to a sweet, melodic lilt.

Miyako sniffled, looking up at the infant with watery, desperate eyes. "A... a simple task?"

Ruby smiled, a bright, angelic expression that perfectly mirrored Ai’s own captivating charm. "Guard our family's secrets," she instructed, her tone gentle but firm. "Moreover, dote on these children. Cook for us, play with us, and do absolutely everything we ask for. And, of course, you must do it all for free."

Standing on the table, Aqua blinked, his blue eyes widening just a fraction. *Everything...?* he thought, a bead of sweat forming on his temple. *She’s not just asking for a caretaker. She’s essentially enslaving her to our whims. I just wanted her to keep her mouth shut, but this dummy is taking the opportunity to get a completely free, doting, and obedient servant.* He glanced at Ruby, realizing just how ruthlessly opportunistic his sister could be when given the chance.

Miyako stared at Ruby, processing the demands. It was a massive undertaking. It meant giving up her free time, her personal life, and her dignity to cater to the every whim of three infants. But as she looked into Ruby’s shining, star-filled eyes, the sheer, overwhelming relief of being spared from "divine punishment" washed over her.

"Is... is that all?" Miyako asked, her voice trembling slightly.

Ruby’s smile widened, and she leaned in just a fraction, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial, almost magical whisper. "Do thusly," she murmured, "and a second marriage to a handsome actor is not out of the question. The heavens have many connections, you know."

The effect was instantaneous and explosive.

Miyako’s tear-stained face transformed in a split second. The fear and despair vanished, replaced by a radiant, almost blinding excitement. Her eyes sparkled with a sudden, intense fervor that rivaled the stars in the children's eyes. "Whoa, really?!" she gasped, her voice pitching up in sheer delight. "A handsome actor?! Like... like someone from a primetime drama? Or maybe a rising star in a shoujo manga adaptation?!"

"Perhaps," Ruby said vaguely, maintaining her angelic facade. "If your service is pleasing."

That was all the confirmation Miyako needed. The prospect of a romantic future with a gorgeous, famous man completely eclipsed the horror of her current babysitting duties. She happily reached out and grabbed Ruby’s tiny hand with both of hers, shaking it vigorously.

"I will do it!" Miyako declared, her voice ringing with newfound, fanatical determination. "I will guard your secrets! I will dote on you! I will do whatever you ask! Just please, please introduce me to a handsome actor!"

Seiya watched the exchange from his vantage point on the table, his expression remaining perfectly neutral. He had successfully neutralized the immediate threat to their family's secrecy, but the method Ruby had employed was... highly unorthodox. They hadn't just silenced a potential leak; they had inadvertently created a fiercely loyal, highly motivated, and completely delusional guardian.

*She is entirely driven by her own desires,* Seiya analyzed, his dark indigo eyes tracking Miyako’s ecstatic expression. *We have secured her silence not through fear alone, but by weaponizing her own greed and romantic fantasies. It is an inefficient, yet highly effective, psychological manipulation.*

Aqua hopped down from the table, landing softly next to his siblings. He looked at Miyako, who was now happily wiping away her tears while fantasizing about her future actor husband, and then looked at Ruby, who was beaming with pride at her successful negotiation.

*Well,* Aqua thought, letting out a quiet, internal sigh. *At least Ai's secret is safe. And I suppose having a manager who is completely at our beck and call won't hurt. As long as it keeps Mama safe, I'll play along with this ridiculous charade.*

Seiya silently agreed. The immediate crisis was averted. The ecosystem of their household had been stabilized, albeit in a bizarre and highly unpredictable way. As Miyako cheerfully began tidying up the living room, humming a happy tune about handsome actors, the three triplets exchanged a brief, knowing look. They were a strange, fractured family of reincarnated souls and a highly analytical prodigy, bound together by a secret that could destroy them all. But for now, the secret was safe.
