My Ikea meals

I sketched my meals at IKEA the other day, following the advice from the first five lessons to help me quickly outline the shapes of everything I want to draw. Next, I add more textures to my sketches with inspiration from lesson 7. Finally, after I finished the final lesson, I went back to my drawings and added the tonal values. Originally, I only shaded the shadow in my sketches. Learning about the different techniques I could make my drawing stand out, I added the midtones also. I was more strategic about where to add my shadings and tonal values so that I could make my drawing more attractive to the eyes. I really enjoyed the smudging technique where I can just simply add texture and midtone to my sketches with my fingers and a little bit of ink.

I have been sketching for about a year. Recently, I become more interested with urban sketching and really want to learn how to sketch faster and simpler. Drewscape's course really helps me with that! Thank you alot for bringing this course on Skillshare!

(Sorry that the photos were rotated. I did everything I could but nothing changed).
