This is the first of two paintings that I will do on the same topic. This one was on Strathmore Mixed Media 300g but it proved to be less than ideal. The paper tended to "crumble" when I agitated it a bit much and I made a mess with the background. I have another one lined up which will be on cold pressed cotton paper. I found this really challenging.  It is a Crested Macaque.
