Boy With a Balloon - Update
Update: I watched the class again, and as usual, caught some directions which I forgot in my first attempt. Like doing a pencil sketch before the continous line in ink. The pencil sketch I made many corrections with, so I am happier with this second sketch.
However, I was impatient to begin the washes, and began before watching that episode again. So, mine are flat and do not let enough of the white paper show. I tried Carrie's tips for lifting off color when you have overpainted (I guess this happens to a lot of us) and so it was better . . . though still not what it could have been.
As always, it was great practice!
2nd Attempt:

I enjoy paintings which are easy, expressive, sketchy and "quick." So I wasn't pleased with the face or the proportions of the body, nor how the shadows turned out. But, I need the experience. Thanks for this very helpful class which takes me further in my practice. Any tips will be appreciated!
I might do it a second time. I often get better results in a finale, after a rehearsal.
