Drawing a Portrait Part II using Loomis head and Asaro Method
Understanding the face planes and how the shading should flow feels like a big win for me. I can look back at my older paintings and finally see what they were missing. I’m excited to continue and taking part III. I wanted to try the 3/4 head‑view techniques, and I was very pleased with the result. It felt much easier thanks to what I learned in Part 1, and it didn’t take long at all. My project is done on 9×12 sketch paper using three pencils (H, HB, and 7B) plus an eraser.
