Owls are one of my favorite things to draw and paint. I really enjoyed watching Anna work her magic with all kinds of mixed media. Here are some pencil sketches and watercolors for my class project. For the snowy owl, I added several layers from light to dark, allowing each layer to completely dry before adding the next, and softening the edges where needed.

I need to work on the eyes and face a bit more on this one. I may use gouache or white pencil for the eyes and try to lift color in some areas.
